MU Offers Free Tickets On Salute To Service Night Nov. 14

Marquette University’s Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is pleased to announce the distribution of complimentary tickets to all veterans, active members of the military, police, fire and first responder personnel for “Salute to Service” at the Nov. 14 men’s basketball game vs. Howard at the BMO Harris Bradley Center.

The matchup against the Bison is set for 7:30 p.m. and is part of the 2016 2K Classic, which benefits the Wounded Warrior Project. The Golden Eagles will also welcome a pair of honorary coaches to the game. The individuals will be honored at the game, provided exclusive access to the team and travel with the squad to New York City for the 2K Classic games at Madison Square Garden Nov. 17-18.

The night’s activities will include recognition and in-game involvement with Marquette ROTC, DryHootch (Veterans organization), Milwaukee Police Department and the Milwaukee Fire Department.

Participants in the ticket special will also receive special “Marquette Thanks You” dog tag key chains.

Marquette also opens the season Friday, Nov. 11 at the Veterans Classic at the U.S Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md. The Golden Eagles will face Vanderbilt, while Navy will host Ohio State in the second game of the doubleheader. The travel party will spend the day with the Midshipmen on Thursday, observing everything from morning colors to formation.

Individuals who identify themselves as current or former service personnel will also receive complimentary admission to the women’s basketball season opener on Veterans Day this Friday evening against Longwood at 7 p.m. in the Al McGuire Center.
