Domino Passing is a drill that incorporates basic passing fundamentals, and adds elements of decision making, quickness, peripheral awareness, and communication.
Alignment: Place 4 players in a box formation with one player in the middle. There is an imaginary dividing line separating the players in the box into two pairs, A and B, and placing a ball with a player on each side. The basic action in the drill is as follows: a player from side A passes to the middle. The middle player has to pass to the other player on side A, and immediately turn to receive the ball from whichever player on side B has the ball (frame 1). The process is then repeated. Side A's ball has to stay on side A and side B's ball remains on side B. The drill lasts for 30 seconds. Keep track of successful passes completed by the player in the middle. You can advance the drill (frame 2) by allowing the players in the box to pass to each other before passing to the middle.
Start the drill the same as always, but as the action on side A is taking place, the players on side B can pass to each other (or not). The middle player then doesn't know where the ball will be coming from before he turns. It is then the responsibility of the player with the ball to communicate so the player in the middle can find the ball.
