2011-12: Was Marquette's top golfer with a 74.52 scoring average in 11 tournaments ... Also led squad with six rounds of par-or-better ... Carded an individual low round with a 1-under-par 70 in the second round of the Wolverine Intercollegiate -- his first event of the season -- and matched it later in the fall season with a second-round 70 at the Pacific Invitational where he finished 11th overall ... Posted the best finish of his MU career at the John Dallio Memorial where he tied for second place with a 1-over 217 (74-72-71) ... Tied for 15th place at the Bandon Dunes Championship with a score of 7-over 220 (72-73-75) ... Went 0-3 in match play matches.
2010-11: As a freshman, Motz finished second among MU players for a season-best 36th place at the FAU Spring Break Champions with a career-best score of 222 (+6) ... Matched his personal-best tournament total of 222 two weeks later at the adidas Hoosier Invitational, where he recorded his career-low round of 68 ... One of three MU players to score in the 60s, along with Corey Konieczki and Kelly Kretz.
Prior to Marquette: Captured 12 tournament titles as a junior golfer from 2005 to 2010 ... won the Junior Club Championship at the Country club of Roswell (Ga.) after carding a 64 in the closing round ... Motz followed up that performance with an eighth-place finish at the American Junior Golf Association's Scissortail Junior Championship in Broken Arrow, Okla. ... Motz was a semifinalist in the 91st Annual Atlanta Amateur Match Play Championship in October 2009 ... He shot 73 to place 13th in the stroke play qualifier then won a pair of matches before being ousted in the semifinal round ... Helped Mount Pisgah Christian School to a runner-up finish in the 2010 Class A Georgia High School Association Boys Golf Championship.
