Marquette Continues Play at USF Invitational

DADE CITY, Fla. -- Marquette moved into a tie for 14th place with one day of action remaining at the USF Invitational following a second-round team score of 300 Tuesday at Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club. The Golden Eagles were led by redshirt sophomore Adam Chester, who shaved six strokes off his opening-round score with an even-par 72 on Monday. Chester (T37) closed his second round with an eagle on the par-5 ninth hole. Freshmen Nick Nelson (T18) and Pat Sanchez (T62) both shot 75 after again starting on hole 10. Sanchez played his final eight holes at even-par despite a double-bogey on hole 6 and Nelson got back to 3-over for the round with a birdie on hole 8. The three-day event concludes tomorrow morning.
