SCOTTSDALE, Arizona — Oliver Farrell shot rounds of 72 and 74 (145, 2-over-par) to stand tied for 27th and lead Marquette through 36 holes of the Desert Mountain Intercollegiate, hosted by Michigan on the Outlaw Course at Desert Mountain G.C.

Marquette sits 11th in the 12-team field (300-302—602), playing in its first 54-hole event of the spring. Host Michigan leads the field at 14-under-par.

Farrell, one of the nation’s leaders in par-5 scoring (25th), was tied for sixth in field at 4.5 strokes (4-under-par) in his par-5 chances.  He collected his seventh eagle of the season on the par-5 16th hole in the first round, finishing the opening 18 holes at even par.

Freshmen Matt Murlick (75-74—149) and Ferdinand Müller (75-76—151) are inside the top-50 at T-42, and T-46, respectively.

Final round play gets under way beginning with 9:30 a.m. CT tee times for Marquette, which is paired with Indiana and San Diego.
