Gaugert Leads Marquette In Final Round at USF Invite

DADE CITY, Fla. -- Marquette finished tied for 14th place, the same position the Golden Eagles started Tuesday, at the USF Invitational at Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club. Redshirt sophomore Adam Chester (T34) was MU's top individual with a three-round total of 225 (78-72-75), followed by freshman Nick Nelson (T47) two stroke back at 227 (71-76-80). Fellow rookie Zach Gaugert posted the team's low round Tuesday with a two-over par 74 to help the Golden Eagles (920) finish four strokes better than in-state rival Wisconsin (924). North Carolina State (860) posted the best overall score in the 17-team field, beating South Carolina (861) by one stroke. Marquette returns to action March 16-17 at the Mission Inn Spring spectacular at Las Colinas Golf Course in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.
