Marquette Finishes 11th at Desert Mountain Intercollegiate

SCOTTSDALE, Arizona — Oliver Farrell shot a 1-under-par 71 in the final round, moving ahead nine spots to finish in a tie for 18th and leading Marquette in its 11th-place showing at the Desert Mountain Intercollegiate, hosted by Michigan at the Outlaw Course at Desert Mountain G.C.

Farrell (72-70-71—217) finished at 1-over-par for the event and posted Marquette’s top score for the fifth time in six competitions this season, and the ninth time in 15 career starts.

Freshman Matt Murlick made a five-spot jump on the leaderboard after a second straight round of 74 - he finished tied for 38th (75-74-74—223).  Murlick finished 11th in the field with 35 par makes in 54 holes.

Marquette’s next event is the Mission Inn Spring Spectacular in Howey in the Hills, Florida, March 18-19.
