Windy Conditions Challenge MU Golfers On Final Day of USF Invite
March 8, 2012
DADE CITY, Fla. -- Sophomore Michael Motz (81 72 73 - 226) led the Marquette University men's golf team to a 16th place finish this week at the USF invitational at Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club. It was very windy conditions, and unfortunately we struggled to manage our games; just too many big numbers," head coach Steve Bailey said, regarding the closing round. "I was proud of Michael for his strong finish." Motz, who went 2-under on the back nine Tuesday, tied for 45th in the event, while Ryan Prickette (78 77 80 - 235) finished in 73rd place and CJ Swift (80 76 82 - 238) finished tied for 81st. Corey Konieczki (76 82 86 - 244) placed 88th, and Adam Chester (84 77 85 - 246) came in 89th place. The Golden Eagles next take the course March 25-27 at the C&F Bank Intercollegiate in Williamsburg, Virginia.
