March 13, 2018

SANTA CRUZ, Calif — Marquette finished a rain-soaked final day of the MacKenzie Matchplay in the runner-up position, as Wyoming edged the Golden Eagles 3-and-2 in championship round play on Tuesday at Pasatiempo G.C.

Wet conditions halted play on Monday near the end of the second round of matches and persisted throughout the final matches on Tuesday.

Finishing Monday’s semifinal match, MU advanced 3-and-2 over Cal Poly with wins from Hunter Eichhorn (4-and-3), Oliver Farrell (2-and-1) and Austin Kendziorski (2-and-2).  In the finals, Matt Murlick (4-and-3) and Farrell (5-and-4) won their matches, but the Cowboys prevailed.
