Struggles Continue At Spring Break Championship

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. -- It was a forgettable day for the Marquette University men's golf team Saturday during round two of the Spring Break Championship at Gleneagles Country Club as the Golden Eagles slipped two spots in the team standings and will enter Sunday's final round at the par-71 Championships Course in 13th place.

MU, which was in 11th place after shooting 298 as a team in the opening round, went 27-over-par Saturday and finished with at 311. Friday's star Dustin Schwab followed up his opening-round 67 with a 79 on Saturday, while fellow senior Mike Van Sickle improved six strokes to lead the Golden Eagles with a 3-over 74.

Schwab is the Golden Eagles' top performer thus far, sitting in a tie for 23rd place at 4-over 146 for the tournament. Sophomore Ben Sieg is tied for 52nd place at 9-over 151 (75-76), followed by Van Sickle at 12-over 154.

Final-round action is slated to begin at 6:30 a.m. CT. Live scoring is available for this event.
