BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- Senior Ben Sieg carded an even-par 71 to lead Marquette University after a five-hour weather delay held up a good portion of the opening round Saturday at the adidas Hoosier Invitational.

Heavy thunderstorms moved into the area shortly after the 7:30 a.m. CT shotgun start and first-round action did not resume until 1:15 p.m. CT. Due to the delay, players did not complete the 36 holes that were scheduled so the second round will resume Sunday morning.

Marquette (299) was in 12th place, and Sieg tied for 15th, at the conclusion of the opening round. Freshman Corey Konieczki shot 74 while classmate Michael Motz and senior Kelly Kretz both shot 77 to round out the Golden Eagles' team scorecard.

Tournament host Indiana led the 14-team field with a first-round 279.

Live scoring is not available for this event.
