MILWAUKEE -- The Marquette University men's golf team rallied to shoot a 285 in the second round of the Palisades Collegiate in Charlotte, N.C. on Monday. Junior Mike Van Sickle and senior Michael Bielawski both carded a three-under par 69 in round two, as the Golden Eagles moved into a tie for fourth overall. Van Sickle shot an even-par 72 and Bielawski fired a 73 in round one to pace Marquette, which as a team shot 294 after the first 18 holes. The Golden Eagles are currently tied at 579 with Virginia Commonwealth with one round remaining. Kelly Kretz shaved three strokes off his first round total to shoot a 73 in round two and is tied with Ted Gray (75-74) at 149 for the tournament. Event co-host Charlotte, ranked No. 5 in the country according to Golfstat's most recent head-to-head ratings, holds a 14-stroke lead over Augusta State with a total of 562 (279-283).
