WINTER PARK, Fla. - The Marquette men's golf team played Rollins College in a one-round "warm-up" match prior to teeing off at BIG EAST Championship, at Orange County National Golf Course in Winter Park, Fla. Marquette scored total 285, while Rollins totaled 296. The Golden Eagles will begin the BIG EAST Championship on Monday, April 24 at Lake Jovita Country Club in Dade City, Fla.

Freshman Mike Van Sickle led Marquette with a six-under-par 66, while sophomore Ted Gray also was under par scoring a 70 for one round.

Seniors Kyle Murphy and Nate Colson rounded things out for Marquette with scores of 74 and 75, respectively.

Rollins College was led by David DeNunzio with a one-under-par 71.

"Mike Van Sickle is coming around," said Grogan. He is putting better and he obviously shot well with a 66. This was a good experience for the guys, playing at a great course, Orange County National. It was just nice to get a round in against a great team whom we have a ton of respect for before the BIG EAST Tournament."
