Haase, Prickette Lead MU On Day One At BIG EAST Championship

REUNION, Fla. -- The Marquette University men's golf team sits in ninth place following Sunday's first round of the 2012 BIG EAST Men's Golf Championship at the Tom Watson Course at Reunion Resort. Senior Matt Haase and redshirt junior Ryan Prickette both shot one-over par 73 to lead the Golden Eagles and both are currently tied for 17th place on the individual leaderboard with two rounds remaining. Prickette carded four birdies after opening with a double-bogey when he went out of bounds on the par-5 first hole. Marquette posted a first-round team score of 299 and is within six strokes of six other teams, including third-place Villanova (293). Notre Dame (284) leads the field with a one-stroke advantage over Louisville. Monday's second round is scheduled to start at 7 a.m. Central Time. Live scoring is available at Golfstat.com.
