Marquette Golfers Sit in Third Place at Doc Gimmler

BETHPAGE, N.Y. - Marquette University is currently in third place at the 14-team Doc Gimmler men's golf tournament at the Bethpage Red golf course, 12 strokes off the lead heading into Sunday's final round, led by freshman Henry Klongland.

Klongland (68-71) carded a 68 in his first round of collegiate golf en route to a two-round score of 139 and is tied with senior Corey Konieczki (69-70) for 10th place overall following the first day of action.

Brandon Cloete (75-66), a junior transfer from Arizona State, shot a team individual low round of 66 in the second round Saturday and is tied with teammate C.J. Swift (72-69) at 19th place on the individual leaderboard.

Marquette was in fifth place after the first 18 holes but behind Klongland, Konieczki, Swift and Cloete, moved up two spots heading into Sunday's third and final round
