Round Two Suspended Due to Darkness At Windon Memorial Classic
Sept. 23, 2012
GLENCOE, Ill. -- Second-round play was suspended due to darkness Sunday at the conclusion of day one of the Windon Memorial Classic at Skokie Country Club. Marquette University was tied for 10th place following the first round with a team score of 308.
The Golden Eagles will pick up Monday where they left off with 33 holes officially recorded. MU will conclude round two with the rest of the field at 7:30 a.m. Central time, prior to the start of the third and final round.
Senior Ryan Prickette (T33) is currently the team leader at 8-over for the tournament. He opened with a team low-round 74 and was tied for 16th place, but dropped on the leaderboard following a slow start to round two. A 20-foot birdie putt on the par-4 hole six got Prickette back to 5-over for the round.
Freshman Zach Gaugert led the Golden Eagles with six birdies on the day, including a pair of birdies on the par-5 hole 11. However, inconsistency led to a first-round 78. Gaugert sits at 11-over for the tournament with three holes left to play in the second round.
