MADISON, Wis. -- The Marquette University men's golf team battled windy conditions Monday during the second round of the Badger Invitational at University Ridge Golf Course. Freshman Henry Klongland climbed the leaderboard and is tied for 11th place through 36 holes.

MU dropped five spots to 11th place in the 14-team field after carding a team score of 303 Monday. Klongland led the Golden Eagles with a second-round 73 following an even-par 72 in the opening round Sunday.

Sophomore Pat Sanchez shot 74, as did classmate Zach Gaugert. Gaugert, who is playing as an individual, was one of two golfers in the field to card an eagle on hole 16.

The 54-hole tournament wraps up with 18 holes Tuesday, which will begin with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. Central time.
