HUNTERSVILLE, N.C. -- Low scores blanked the 49er Collegiate Classic. The Golden Eagles shot their second lowest total of the year, a 899. MU finished the tournament in 11th place.

Indiana won the tournament shooting a 22-under, 842. Five teams finished on the better side of par.

Things were equally low on the team side. Indiana's Jeff Overton ran away with the individual portion of the tournament, shooting a 17-under, 199. The won the event by nine strokes over a group of three golfers.

Marquette's low score came from sophomore Steve Sass. He shot a season best 219 to finish the tournament at three-over, 219, in a tie for 26th place.

Junior Nathan Colson and sophomore Kyle Murphy tied for 44th place. Murphy shot a 71 in the final round to move up to 225. Colson also finished at nine-over.

Freshman Michael Bielawski came in 58th place with a 234 (+18) and sophomore Joe Weber shot a 237 (+21) to finish in 60th place.

The Golden Eagles next compete on Oct. 13-14 at the Xavier Invitational in Cincinnati, Ohio. It is the team's final tournament of the fall.
