Kretz Shoots 67 To Lead MU Golfers Tuesday

STOCKTON, Calif. -- Senior Kelly Kretz fired a four-under-par 67 to pace the Marquette University men's golf team Tuesday during the second round of play at the Stockton Sports Commission Pacific Invitational at the par-72 Brookside Country Club.

Marquette, which began the day in third place, dropped three spots to finish the round in sixth place.

Kretz birdied two of his last three holes, including his 11th birdie of the tournament on the par-5 hole 18, to drop to four-under on the day and five-under for the tournament. Kretz is tied for sixth place on the individual leaderboard heading into the final round of play Wednesday.

Senior Ben Sieg and junior Matt Haase both shot two-over 74.

Marquette's score for the tournament is 574, two strokes behind UC Davis. Pacific (543) leads the 12-team field after T.J. Bordeaux carded a course-record 11-under par 61 Tuesday. Bordeaux is currently leading all individuals at 129 through the first two rounds.
