Pacific Invitational - Round Two Results (PDF)
MILWAUKEE -- Marquette climbed two spots Tuesday and finished its second round at the Stockton Sports Commission Pacific Invitational in eighth place with a team score of 580 (292-288) at Brookside Country Club.
Currently tied for fifth at two-under-par 140 (70-70), Mike Van Sickle sits three strokes behind co-leaders T.J. Bordeaux of tournament host Pacific and Rice University's Michal Buttacavoli.
Starting this morning on hole 10, Van Sickle was three-under par and battling for the lead at the turn before giving one stroke back with a bogey on the par-three hole three.
Van Sickle went back to three-under with another birdie on hole six, but was a combined two-over, including a double-bogey on hole seven, and finished his round at one-under 70.
With four birdies on the day, freshman Matt Haase was able to shave two strokes off of yesterday's first round score and finish Tuesday with a one-over 72. Sophomores Kelly Kretz and Ben Sieg both shot 73.
Rice carries a four-stroke lead into Wednesday's final round with a team score of two-under 566 (283-283), with Oregon (570), Kansas State (571) and Fresno State (571) right behind.
The first tee time Wednesday belongs to Dustin Schwab who will start at hole 11 at 10:30 a.m. CT. Live scoring is available for the final round.
