Golden Eagles Set To Compete At USF Invitational

Dade City, Fla. - The Marquette University men's golf team will continue its spring campaign this weekend, March. 4-6, at the USF Invitational held at the par-72, 7,153-yard Lake Jovita Country Club. Live results will be available at GolfStat.com.
Marquette will get off to an early start to its opening round as the Golden Eagles have been assigned to the first group which is set to tee off at starting at 6:15 a.m. CT Friday.
MU is one of 21 teams competing in the event this weekend, which also features five other BIG EAST Conference schools, including Cincinnati, DePaul, Louisville, Villanova and tournament host USF.
This weekend marks the first stroke-play event of the spring for the Golden Eagles, who finished 2-2 as a team in their last time out at The Match Play on Feb. 12. Marquette earned a berth into the semifinal round after they knocked off fellow BIG EAST Conference opponents Notre Dame and Villanova.
All five Marquette players tallied their lowest 54-hole scores of the season in the team's last stroke-play event, the Pacific Invitational, to conclude the 2010 fall season back in November. Kretz tied for second place while MU posted a sixth-place team finish.
