Rio Pinar Invitational Begins With 36 Holes Monday

MILWAUKEE -- Marquette University golfers will compete this week at the 18-team Rio Pinar Invitational, which starts Monday at the par-72, 7,001-yard Rio Pinar Country Club in Orlando, Fla.

The two-day event begins with back-to-back rounds on Monday with a shotgun start scheduled for 7 a.m. CT. A final round is slated for Tuesday morning at 7:45 a.m. CT. Live scoring is not available for the tournament. Complete results will be posted on

Three teams, including host UCF, enter the week ranked in the top 50 in the nation, according to Golfstat. Seton Hall joins MU as the only other member of the BIG EAST Conference listed among the participants. 

MU arrived in the Orlando area early Monday morning and had a few hours rest before rising for an early practice round. This is the Golden Eagles' fourth trip to the Sunshine State since the middle of February and will they will return to Florida two more times this season following this week's event.
