MU Gears Up For Final Regular Season Tourney

KANNAPOLIS, N.C. - The Marquette University men's golf team continues its spring season this weekend at the Irish Creek Collegiate Golf Classic. Two rounds are scheduled Saturday, April 3 followed by a closing round Sunday at par-71, 7099-yard The Club at Irish Creek in Kannapolis, N.C.

There will be no live scoring for the event, co-hosted by Charlotte, Davidson College and Belmont Abbey, in conjunction with the Charlotte Regional Sports Commission.

In addition to the host schools, Marquette's lineup of Kelly Kretz, Mike McDonald, Ben Sieg, Matt Haase and Ryan Prickette will go head-to-head against: Richmond, Mercer, Elon, Miami (Ohio), Ohio State, Toledo, Kennesaw State, Campbell and Francis Marion.

Saturday's opening round will begin at 7:30 a.m. Central Time with a shotgun start. Pairings for Sunday's third round will be set following the conclusion of round two with groups teeing off from hole one and hole 10 at 7:30 a.m. CT.

This will be the final competition of the regular season for the Golden Eagles, who next head to the BIG EAST Championship, April 18-20, in Innisbrook, Fla.
