GAUGERT'S BEST SWINGS
Marquette junior Zach Gaugert is coming off his best performance of the season, carding a 219 (74-72-73) to finish 12th and lead all individual competitors at the Desert Mountain Intercollegiate. His 12th place finish is his best in a 54-hole event and was just three strokes off his career-best 54-hole score (216, Kemper Sports Intercollegiate - 2013). Aiding Gaugert was his 13 birdies, tied for third-most in the tournament.
Through seven events, Marquette's 12 eagle makes are the 29th-most in the country ... Gaugert has eagled four holes, and Brandon Cloete has three ... Nelson averaged 2.92 strokes on Par-3s at the Desert Mountain Intercollegiate, second-best in the tournament ... Head-to-head with other teams, Marquette is 54-35-1 in 2014-15.
