CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Marquette University men's golf team will open the Palisades Collegiate Classic with 36 holes Monday, as the field prepares to battle weather and wet course conditions at the par-72, 6,797-yard Palisades Country Club.
Rain is forecast for Monday with thunderstorms possible on Tuesday during the scheduled final round. This year's event features 15 teams, including Louisville, MU's rival from the BIG EAST Conference.
Marquette placed fourth at last year's event won by Charlotte, which is again a co-host of this year's tournament along with Davidson College. Mike Bielawski and Mike Van Sickle tied for third place in 2008, both finishing at 4-under-par 212.
