MILWAUKEE -- Marquette University senior Mike Van Sickle recently discussed his venture playing in the U.S. Open Sectional qualifying tournament in Columbus, Ohio.

Van Sickle, who this year was paired with PGA Tour veteran Skip Kendall June 2, talks candidly about the experience. Van Sickle was interviewed by Rich Emert of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette in a story that ran June 8. Read it here.

Van Sickle failed to qualify for the U.S. Open (which begins today) for the second straight year after advancing through regional qualifying competition. Former teammate Mike Bielawski, who graduated this past May, also played in a Sectional qualifier in Lake Forest, Ill. Bielawski won his regional qualifying tournament.
