MILWAUKEE - A week after making his PGA Tour debut, former Marquette standout Mike Van Sickle returns to Wisconsin for his second tournament with pros when the amateur t ees it up Thursday at the U.S. Bank Championship at Brown Deer Park Golf Course.

"This is kind of a great opportunity for me to come back to a course that I actually know pretty well," said Van Sickle. "I've played out here about 30 times probably. It's a course where I feel very comfortable. And the opportunity to come back to Milwaukee to play in front of friends and family and the whole Marquette community is going to be pretty exciting."

Playing under a sponsor's exemption for the second consecutive week, Van Sickle -- who has selected Marquette senior Mike McDonald as his caddie for this week's event -- will begin his first round Thursday at 1:10 p.m., starting on hole 10. Friday's second round tee time is set for 8:25 a.m. going off on hole one.

Van Sickle has been paired with Casey Wittenberg (Memphis, Tenn.) and James Oh (Lakewood, Calif.) for both the first and second rounds. Live coverage of the nationally televised event, to be held July 16-19, will be broadcast daily from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. CT on the Golf Channel.

Last week at the John Deere Classic in Silvis, Ill., Van Sickle missed the cut after finishing his second round at 1-under-par for the tournament. He hopes to put on a better showing this week in front of his family and friends.

"Last week definitely put me in a comfort zone for this week," added Van Sickle. "I played some good golf [at the John Deere Classic]. I ran out of mental gas the first day because I had so much adrenaline pumping; second day didn't make any putts and still managed to shoot 1-under."
