Men's Golf Earns GCAA All-Academic Team Honors

MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University men's golf team has earned All-Academic Team honors, presented by Farmers Insurance, for the 2011-12 academic year the Golf Coaches Association of American announced today. Marquette was one of 68 NCAA Division I programs recognized and just one of five schools from the BIG EAST Conference to receive the award.
"I am very proud of our team's achievements in the classroom," said Marquette men's golf head coach Steve Bailey. "This award is also attributable to our academic services team and the resources Marquette University provides to assist our team in balancing academics and athletics."
The Golden Eagles posted a team grade point average of 3.15 during the 2011-12 school year. Only teams that achieved a GPA of 3.0 or higher garner recognition from the GCAA. The last time MU earned the award was in 2008-09.
