2010 Schedule

MILWAUKEE -- First-year head men's golf coach Steve Bailey has released the fall tournament schedule for the Marquette University men's golf team. MU has announced five events, beginning with the Gopher Invitational, Sept. 12-13 and concluding the season with back-to-back trips to the West Coast.

To open the campaign, Marquette will return to Spring Hill Golf club in Wayzata, Minn., site of the Gopher Invitational hosted by the University of Minnesota. MU last played in the tournament back in 2008. Mike Van Sickle took home medalist honors and Ben Sieg made a hole-in-one during the first round of play to mark MU's top individual highlights.

The Cardinal Club in Simpsonville, Ky. will once again be the site of the Cardinal Collegiate, Sept. 20-21. The Golden Eagles won there back in 2005, defeating BIG EAST Conference rival and tournament host Louisville.

Next up on the schedule will be the Windon Memorial Classic, Sept. 26-27, hosted by Northwestern University at North Shore Country Club in Glenview, Ill. It marks Bailey's return to his old stomping ground as the former NU associate head coach once served as the tournament's director.

MU will then take a month off before playing in its next event, the St. Mary's Invitational, Oct. 25-26. Marquette played in last year's invite at Poppy Hills. This year the venue will alternate between the Bayonet and Blackhorse golf courses in Seaside, Calif.

Bailey's squad will return to the Golden State, Nov. 1-3, to compete in the Pacific Invitational to conclude the fall season. It will be the third straight year the Golden Eagles play at Brookside Country Club in Stockton, Calif.
