Marquette University Men's Golf To Compete in Windon Memorial Classic

MILWAUKEE -- The Marquette University men's golf team travels to the Skokie Country Club in Glencoe, Ill. this weekend, Sept. 23-24, to compete in the Windon Memorial Classic.
Competition begins Sunday, with the Golden Eagles teeing off at 8:15 a.m. CT. for 36 holes of competition. Play will conclude Monday with a final round of 18 holes. Skokie Country Club is a par-71 track that stretches 7,081 yards with a slope of 133 and a rating of 74.3.
Marquette's lineup this weekend will include junior Corey Konieczki and sophomore Will Joiner, who will be making their season debut, as well as senior Ryan Prickette and freshmen Pat Sanchez and Zach Gaugert, who played in the team's season-opener last weekend at The McLaughlin. Freshman Nick Nelson will also make this weekend's trip as an individual.
The rest of the field competing in the Windon Memorial Classic includes: Coastal Carolina, Depaul, Eastern Michigan, Florida Atlantic, Harvard, Indiana, Lamar, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Northwestern, Tennessee, Toledo, and UC Davis.
MU competed in this event last season when it was held at the Evanston Golf Club in Skokie, Ill., finishing 12th overall. Then sophomore Michael Motz led the Golden Eagles with a three-round total of 3-over par 217.
Windon Memorial Classic notable past participants include current PGA members: Tiger Woods, Luke Donald, Joe Ogilvie, and Hunter Mahan.
