MILWAUKEE – The Marquette University men’s golf team will compete in the Badger Invitational, Sept. 28-30, hosted by the University of Wisconsin, at University Ridge Golf Course in Verona, Wisconsin. The 14 team field will play 18 holes each day on the par-72, 7,259-yard course.

Teams will arrive to the tournament site on Saturday for a practice round and will begin first-round play starting at 9 a.m. Sunday morning Central time. Round two will be played Monday, Sept. 29 and the tournament will conclude with the final round scheduled for Tuesday.
Marquette will send the same lineup that finished fifth against a highly competitive field Windon Memorial Classic this past week. Representing the Golden Eagles will be juniors Nick Nelson, Pat Sanchez and Zach Gaugert, along with senior Brandon Cloete and sophomore Henry Klongland.
Sanchez and Nelson have led Marquette through the first two events, both finishing in the top-15 for both tournaments, and both lead the team with scoring averages of 72.00.
Junior Will Joyner will make his 2014-15 debut as an individual in addition to MU freshmen Trevor Thomas and Garrett Loomis.
This Sunday will mark the beginning of back-to-back local tournaments for Marquette. Following the conclusion of play Tuesday, MU will return home to host the Erin Hills Intercollegiate, Oct. 5-7, at Erin Hills Golf Course in Erin, Wis.
