Men's Golf Team Will Compete at SCVB Pacific Invitational

MILWAUKEE - The Marquette University men's golf team will wrap up its fall season when it travels to Stockton, Calif., for the Stockton Convention & Visitors Bureau Pacific Invitational hosted by Pacific University. The event will be held at the par-71, 6,757 yard Brookside Country Club and will run from Oct. 31-Nov. 2.

MU is one of 12 schools competing at the event, which also features tournament-host Pacific, BYU, Cal Poly, Charlotte, Colorado State, Denver, Fresno State, Kansas State, Nevada, Oregon State and UC Davis.
The tournament format includes 54-holes, 18 each day, with the four lowest scores per team being tallied.
Sophomore Michael Motz has been the Golden Eagles top finisher in their previous two tournaments, including a runner-up finish at the John Dallio Memorial on Oct. 9. The Milton, Ga., native also has a team-best 73.45 scoring average this fall.
Former Marquette golfer Mike Van Sickle captured the 2008 Pacific Invitational top spot after he birdied his last four holes to claim a school-record ninth collegiate tournament win.
