Ferdinand Müller Named BIG EAST Male Golfer of the Week

Nov. 3, 2016

NEW YORK -- Marquette freshman Ferdinand Müller, who shot 7-under-par and finished tied for fifth at Price’s Give ‘Em Five Invitational last weekend, was named BIG EAST Male Golfer of the Week by the league office on Thursday.

Müller, a freshman from Reinnigen, Germany, gives MU its fourth conference accolade over the fall season’s seven weeks.  Oliver Farrell (twice: Sept. 29, Oct. 12) and Matt Murlick (Oct. 5) garnered honors as well during the fall.

Playing as an individual, Müller turned in a career-low 209 at the UTEP-hosted event last Friday through Sunday.  After posting a career-low 69 (3-under-par) on Saturday, he moved up a spot on the leaderboard Sunday with a strong finish, going 2-under-par in a bogey-free final 13 holes.  Müller finished seventh in the field with 37 par makes, in addition to two eagles, and was one of eight players in the 75-player field to go under par in each round.  Müller is the third MU player to post a top-five finish this season and his 209 matches MU’s low individual mark this season.
