Joiner Signs With Marquette

Nov. 18, 2010

MILWAUKEE – Marquette University head men’s golf coach Steve Bailey has announced the signing of standout golfer Will Joiner (Brentwood, Tenn./Brentwood) to a National Letter of Intent. Joiner will join the Golden Eagles in the fall of 2011.

Joiner, the second ranked golfer in the state of Tennessee according to the Junior Golf Scoreboard, finished tied for 14th overall at the AJGA Franklin Junior Championship this past July in Murfreesbro, Tenn.

“We are excited to have Will join the Marquette family,” said Bailey. “Will exemplifies all the qualities that are synonymous with Marquette and our golf program. His play on the course is what initially attracted us to recruit him, but once we had him on campus and got a chance to meet his family, that solidified our decision.”

He also helped his Brentwood High School team capture a regional championship this fall before finishing fourth in the Tennessee State High School Championship en route to being named Brentwood's player of the year. Joiner was also a four-year letter winner in basketball and a member of the National Honor Society. He plans on majoring in business/accounting upon his arrival at Marquette.

“Will’s background as a multi-sport athlete is a huge asset to our program,” added Bailey. “He understands our team’s commitment to excellence is contagious and vital to our success.”
