2015 Season (R-Jr.): Selected unanimously to the Preseason All-BIG EAST Team ... USILA Scholar All-American and BIG EAST All-Academic Team selection ... Team captain ... Named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week after he helped MU top Hofstra (Feb. 14) ... Picked up four ground balls and caused two turnovers in wins over Jacksonville and Mercer (March 6 and 8) ... Picked up two ground balls and caused a pair of turnovers in a win over Villanova (March 28) ... Held No. 1/1 Notre Dame's leading scorer Matt Kavanagh without a goal for the second consecutive match up (April 7).

2014 Season (R-So.): Caused three turnovers and picked up four ground balls at Jacksonville (March 8) ... Picked up five groundballs and caused three turnovers in MU's first ever BIG EAST win at Rutgers (March 29) ... Held Kieran McArdle of St. John's scoreless to help Marquette beat the Red Storm 11-10 (2OT) and named BIG EAST Defensive Player of the Week for his effort ... The next week Grill held Notre Dame's Matt Kavanagh without a goal in a 12-7 loss to the Fighting Irish (April 8) ... He then limited Providence's Andrew Barton to only one point (April 12) ... Unanimously named to First Team All-BIG EAST on April 29 ... Grill was the only defenseman to be selected unequivocally ... Finished 2014 with 37 ground balls and 16 caused turnovers.

2013 Season (R-Fr.): Started all 13 games at defenseman ... Finished second on the team in caused turnovers (18) ... Forced four turnovers (a program best) and won five ground balls in a win vs. Mercer ... Won five ground balls and caused three turnovers vs. Georgetown.

Prior to Marquette: Attended Bridgewater-Raritan High School ... Three-time first team all-Group NJSIAA Group and all-area selection ... NJSIAA All-American his senior season ... Helped high school squad win Group IV State Championship in 2009 and 20011 ... Team won 2011 Somerset County and Tournament of Champions titles ... Named captain prior to senior season ... Also played football in high school.
