MILWAUKEE - Senior attackman Ryan McNamara was selected as an Inside Lacrosse Preseason Third Team All-American, while the Marquette University men's lacrosse team was picked to finish third in the BIG EAST Conference and checked in at No. 20 in the nation in the publication's annual Face-off Yearbook.

McNamara was a USILA Honorable Mention All-American as a junior and a unanimous All-BIG EAST First Team choice at attack after switching from the midfield position five games into last season. The Eagan, Minnesota native posted single-season program records of 40 goals and 57 points in 2016 and is now Marquette's all-time goal scoring leader with 80 career tallies.

He is set to begin his final season of eligibility with much of MU's offensive unit returning in 2017, including classmates Kyran Clarke, Andy DeMichiei and Joe Dunn, as well as rising junior Tanner Thomson.

McNamara joins former teammates Liam Byrnes and B.J. Grill has a recipient of preseason All-America laurels from Inside Lacrosse. Both Byrnes and Grill were third team honorees prior to last season.

The Golden Eagles, who captured their first BIG EAST tournament crown in 2016, return seven of 10 starters and play their first spring scrimmages on Saturday, Jan. 21 at Michigan.
