Marquette's Seasonal Dome opens at Valley Fields
Jan. 31, 2017
MILWAUKEE - Marquette University opened up a $3.6 million seasonal dome at Valley Fields on Monday, Jan. 30 to provide a climate-controlled competition and training space for its 16 intercollegiate athletic programs.
The dome at Marquette's Menomonee Valley athletic complex is fitted over the middle FieldTurf Revolution 360 field, which was recently installed in the summer of 2015.
The structure will stay up during the winter months to provide an indoor training option for Marquette's soccer, track and field and golf programs, as well as a training and competition venue for men's and women's lacrosse. All other varsity athletic programs, in addition to intermural sports, are expected to use the building in some capacity as well.
The men's lacrosse team will be the first to host an intercollegiate contest in the dome on Friday at 9 a.m. in a preseason scrimmage against High Point.
