DENVER, Colo. -- Marquette (2-5) will play its third game in eight days, and second consecutive contest versus a top-5 nationally ranked opponent, on Friday, April 5 (8 p.m. Central time), when the Golden Eagles take on the No. 3/3 Denver Pioneers (7-2) at Barton Stadium.

MU will be looking to snap a three-game losing streak against a Pioneers squad that is undefeated (3-0) this season on their home field. Marquette is coming off of Tuesday’s 17-5 setback to No. 5/4 Notre Dame. Meanwhile, Denver has won five of its last six games, including back-to-back victories. The Pioneers’ lone defeat during that stretch was a narrow 13-12 overtime loss to the nationally ranked Fighting Irish in the Mile High Classic.

Friday’s tilt against Denver will be the eighth straight road game for the Golden Eagles to open their 2013 inaugural season and their second trip to The Centennial State; MU’s last visit to Colorado resulted in the first-ever win in the history of the new men’s lacrosse program as the team came from behind to top Air Force, 8-6, back on March 6 at Falcon Stadium.

Denver's Eric Low and Wesley Berg pace one of the nation’s top offenses under legendary head coach Bill Tierney. Law enter’s Friday’s matchup with a team-high 39 points on 18 goals and 21 assists, and Berg has scored 29 times this season on just 63 shot attempts. Goalie Ryan LaPlante (10.04 gaa) has played the majority of minutes between the pipes, followed by Jamie Faus (9.95 gaa in six games played).
