MILWAUKEE- The Marquette University men's and women's lacrosse teams hosted a clinic for University students, faculty and staff Thursday afternoon in the Al McGuire Center. Head coaches Joe Amplo and Meredith Black hosted the clinic, while assistant coaches and players to helped with the event.

The event, titled "Lacrosse 101," started with a conversation between the coaches and the audience about the basics of lacrosse as well as an introduction to the players and their specific positions.

Following some questions, the audience broke up into five stations to learn and test out their lacrosse skills. At one of the stations, attendees got chance to shoot on former All-American goalie and volunteer assistant coach Scott Rodgers.

After the stations, Amplo invited the audience to stay and watch the men's team scrimmage on the Al McGuire Center court. The white team beat the blue team 1-0 while playing with mini-goals and outfield players as goalies.

Overall, there was about 50 people in attendance Thursday.

Both teams will begin independent NCAA play in 2013, and will join the BIG EAST for the 2014 season.
