The culminating celebration of the centennial of Marquette’s men’s basketball was held on Friday, June 23 at the BMO Harris Bradley Center with almost 1,000 guests in attendance. Former MU coaches and student-athletes from every era attended the event, which was emceed by ESPN’s Jay Bilas and featured panels of players from the 1940s to the present day.

Marquette’s young pros looking to solidify their spots in an NBA lineup will compete in summer leagues over the next couple weeks. Henry Ellenson and the Detroit Pistons will compete in the 2017 Mountain Dew Orlando Pro Summer League, held July 1-6 at the Amway Center’s practice court. All games will air on NBATV. Trent Lockett has committed to playing for the Atlanta Hawks entry in the Las Vegas Summer League from July 7-17. Former NBA guard Dwight Buycks will play with the Dallas Mavericks, who will send entries to both Orlando and Vegas.

The Marquette men’s and women’s basketball teams will make an appearance at The World’s Largest Music Festival on Sunday, July 2 at the Gruber Law Offices SportsZone near the main gate of the grounds. The women’s squad will host a clinic at 12:30 p.m., followed by the men’s team at 1:30 p.m. and have giveaways for fans in attendance.

Marquette’s all-time leading scorer Ryan McNamara has continued to shine this year in a different uniform as the new Rochester Rattler has notched seven points (four goals and three assists) through his first three MLL games. He notched a pair of goals and an assist in an overtime defeat at home to Atlanta on Saturday evening. Marquette volunteer assistant coach Ryan Brown earned a spot in the 2017 MLL All-Star Game it was announced earlier this week. Brown leads the league with 27 goals and is third with 35 points.
