BOSTON -- Former Marquette University attackman Conor Gately was selected by the Rochester Rattlers with the 13th overall pick in the second round of the Major League Lacrosse Supplemental Draft on Wednesday afternoon.
Gately joins former Marquette teammates Liam Byrnes, B.J. Grill and Jacob Richard as MLL draft picks after the trio was selected in the 2016 collegiate draft and each had successful rookie campaigns once MU's season ended in the NCAA tournament.

He graduated in May with a bachelor's degree in real estate and produced a program-record 140 points. Gately sits second all-time at Marquette with 77 goals and had an MU-best 63 career assists upon graduation.
Marquette has recorded double digit wins in each of the last two seasons and set new program bests of 11 overall victories and four conference wins in 2016, while ending the year ranked 11th in the USILA Coaches Poll and 13th in the media poll. The Golden Eagles also hosted their first NCAA tournament game in May as the national No. 6 seed, falling to eventual NCAA Champion North Carolina by one goal in the NCAA First Round.
