Marquette Men's Cross Country/Track Announce Incoming Recruits
Coach Uhrich Pleased With Newcomers

Milwaukee - Dave Uhrich, the head coach of Marquette University's men's cross country and track and field teams, has announced that the following athletes will attend Marquette in the fall and compete for the Golden Eagles. Andy Ballard (Oregon, Illinois/Oregon HS - Throws) - Ballard finished 7th in the 2001 state meet and 2nd in the 2000 state meet in the discus. His personal best in the discus is 172 feet and the shot put is 53-0. Coach Uhrich on Ballard: "Andy is an outstanding athlete who we feel will be able to excel at the collegiate level of track and field." Jason Crichton (Burlington, Ontario, Canada/M.M. Robinson - Distance/Cross Country) - His personal best in the 3000 meters is 8:43 and in the 5000 meters is 15:15. Crichton finished 7th at OFSAA and 19th at the Canadian Junior Nationals. Coach Uhrich on Crichton: "Jason has had a lot of success at the Canadian Junior level and is ready to take the next step at the NCAA collegiate level." Duncan Lindquist (Salt Lake City, Utah/Judge Memorial HS - Distance/Cross Country) - Lindquist was the Division 3A State Cross Country Champion in 1999 and finished 2nd in 2000. His personal best in the 5000 meters is 15:07. Coach Uhrich on Lindquist: "Duncan has a great work ethic and his quality of training in the high altitude of Utah will help him to immediately adjust to college level training and racing." Ryan McAbee (North Royal, Ohio/Cleveland St. Ignatius - Pole Vault) - McAbee finished 5th in the Ohio Regional in 2001 and his personal best is 14-0. Coach Uhrich on McAbee: "We are excited about having Ryan in the program. He gives us a pole vaulter who will give us a presence in the event." Charles Mashozhera (Harare, Zimbabwe/Prince Edward School, University of Zimbabwe - Long jump, Triple jump) - Mashozhera was the top junior triple jumper in Zimbabwe. He holds a personal best in the long jump of 23-0 and in the triple jump of 49-3. Coach Urich on Mashozera: "Charles gives us a top-level jumper. He will be expected to score in the triple and long jump at the conference meet." Ryan Murphy (Cortland, Ohio/Lakeview - Throws) -- Finished 11th in the 2001 state finals in the discus. Coach Uhrich on Murphy: "We feel Ryan's fundamentals and work ethic will make him competitive in the conference." Adam Robbert (Fremont, Wisconsin/Winneconne - Throws) - Robbert finished 6th in the state meet in the discus competition. His personal best in that event is 180-0 while his personal best in the shot put is 51-0. Coach Uhrich on Robbert: "Adam has the potential to do very well in his first year of collegiate competition. If his development continues from his high school career, he will make an impact on our team." Jonathon Rosploch (Plymouth, Wisconsin/Plymouth - Throws) - Rosploch's personal bests of 152-0 in the discus and 52-0 in the shot put give the team more depth in the events. Coach Uhrich on Rosploch: "Jonathon is an individual who has all of the capabilities to compete at the Division I level. His persistency will help him accept new challenges in track and field." Ryan Seebruck (Necedah, Wisconsin/Necedah - Sprints) - Seebruck enjoyed plenty of success at the state meet, taking second in the 100 meters and 200 meters and 5th in the 400 meters. His personal bests include a 10.90 in the 100 meters, 22.50 in the 200 meters and 49.97 in the 400. Coach Uhrich on Seebruck: "Ryan will make our men's 400 crew one of the best in the conference." Jacob Sienko (Billings Montana/Billings Central Catholic - Sprints) - Sienko hopes to bring his championship mentality to Marquette. In high school, he was the state champion in the 400 meters in 2001 and took home three titles in 1999. His personal best in the 100 meters is 10.86, 21.89 in the 200 meters and 48.77 in the 400 meters. Coach Uhrich on Sienko: "Jacob gives us another top-level 400 meter runner to join an already strong group. He will also provide us with someone who can cover all the sprint events." |
