2007: Belfrage played in 12 games and made five starts in his first and only season with the Golden Eagles. He made his collegiate debut in the team's first regular season game at Denver (Aug. 31). He earned his first collegiate start in the home opener versus Xavier (Sept. 9), which MU won by a final score of 2-1. Belfrage gave MU a 1-0 lead with his lone goal of the season during the 13th minute against UW-Green Bay. He finished the season with two points and four shots on goal.
Prior to Marquette: Belfrage was a first team all-conference and first team all state selection despite only playing one full year of high school soccer at Mountain Vista High School. Playing for coach Theresa Etchermeyer, Belfrage led his team to the schools first playoff berth and first playoff victory. It was on the club level where Belfrage shined. He played for Erik Bushey with the Colorado Rush soccer club and was a four-year member of the Region IV ODP team, twice touring overseas with the ODP squad. He also was a four year member of the Colorado State team. He led the Colorado Rush to five state cup titles and a spot in the Region IV finals 3 times. He was captain of his ODP team in 2006.
Personal: Joshua Robert Belfrage was born January 17, 1989, and is the son of Anne Belfrage. He has an older sister, Christi, and an older brother, Tim.
