2002: Darby became an offensive threat as a junior, finding a role as a forward-minded midfielder. He was fourth on the team in scoring and led the team in assists with six. He added three goals for a 12 point season. He had three multiple point matches. He scored a goal and added an assist against TCU (Oct. 5). He had a two assist night against Wis.-Green Bay (Oct. 8) and he had his first two goal match against UAB (Oct. 27), scoring both goals in a 2-1 overtime win. He was named the Conference USA Player-of-the-Week after that match.

2001: Darby became a more valuable member of the MU men's soccer team in his second season. He played in the majority of matches and earned a start against Wis.-Green Bay (Oct. 31). Darby became productive on the offensive end as well, scoring six points on the season. He scored goals in back-to-back contests, netting one against UWGB and the match before, scoring the match winner against TCU (Oct. 26). He also added assists against the Phoenix, making the most of that start, and against UAB (Nov. 16).

2000: Darby appeared sparingly as a freshman, seeing time in three matches. He made his collegiate debut on Sept. 12 in MU's 1-0 win over Northwestern. He also saw action against Louisville and DePaul.

At Rockhurst: A three-year starter for the two-time state champion Hawklets, Darby was team captain as a senior. He was All-Missouri First Team as a senior and was also named the state's Defensive Player of the Year. Darby was a first-team member of the all-district (sophomore-senior), all-metro (senior), All-Western Region Missouri (junior and senior) and All-Sports Connection Magazine (junior and senior) teams. Additionally, he was a member of Kansas State ODP team from 1995-99. He started as a rookie for the Kansas City Brass of the Professional Development League. In the classroom, he was a four-year member of the Rockhurst Honor Roll and two-year member of the National Honor Society. Darby was the school's "R" Award winner as a senior and was named a Top 10 Scholar-Athlete of the Year by the Kansas City Star. He was a prep teammate of current Golden Eagle Mike Robards.

Personal: Born May 2, 1981, Darby is the son of Robert and Diane Darby. He has one older brother, one older sister and one younger sister. His brother Brett played soccer and baseball for Southern Illinois and his sister Bridget played soccer for Northwestern. He participated in mission trip to Honduras over spring break of senior year. Darby is an English major.
