2006: Dettmann played in five matches, starting in three. He was scheduled to be the starter at the beginning of the season, but he injured a hand in warmups prior to the game and didn't make the lineup until the sixth game of the season. He played 45 minutes against USF (Sept. 10), where he made his first career save. He also played 45 minutes against Wis.-Milwaukee (Sept. 13), making three stops. He earned his first career start at Notre Dame (Sept. 27), making four saves. He set a team high with 10 saves in a 1-0 loss to Wisconsin (Oct. 11).

Prior to Marquette: Dettmann played high school soccer at Marquette High in Milwaukee. He was a three-time varsity letterwinner and was named first-team all-conference and first-team all-state as a senior. Each of the three years Dettmann was on varsity, his team won state championships. Dettman also played basketball in high school, lettering as a junior and senior.

Personal: Marc Dettmann was born on July 22, 1984, in Milwaukee to Del Dettman and Mary Ertl-Dettmann. He has brothers, Eric and Drake. Dettmann majored in economics and international affairs.
