2007: Etim's ability is such that he is on the verge of evolving into one of Marquette's promising young stars following a freshman season in which he played in 15 games. He made his collegiate debut and first collegiate start in the regular season opener at Denver. He made five starts overall and recorded three shots on goal. He recorded two shots in Marquette's 2-1 win over Xavier (Sept. 7). He started and registered one shot in the Golden Eagles' first-ever BIG EAST victory versus Cincinnati (Sept. 30). Etim's speed, combined with his size, make him a formidable opponent. Etim was one of three Golden Eagles (Billy Von Rueden and Anthony Colaizzi) to play for the Chicago Fire's (MLS) PDL team during the 2008 summer.
Prior to Marquette: Etim was a four-year letterwinner at Guilford High School playing for coach Hugh Ward. He was a first team all-state and all-conference selection as a senior. As a junior, he was all-section and all-conference. He led his high school to two regional championship spots and a state semifinal appearance as a sophomore. He plays club soccer for the Rockford Raptors under coach Louis Mateus. He helped guide his club team to finals in 2004 and semifinal in 2006 at the USYSA national championships, a pair of Region II regional titles and a state title. He is a four-year ODP player and participated in the 2005 ODP national championships and regional championships in 2003 and 2004.
