2001: Gerlesits became more of a threat in his junior year. He played in 18 matches, earning six starts for his hard work and aggressive, toward the goal style. Gerlesits was fifth on the team with four goals, one a match winner in MU's upsept of 23rd-ranked Santa Clara. He also had a pair of assists for 10 points on the year. Last season was the only time that Gerlesits recorded a point for MU. 2000: Gerlesits appeared in six matches in his sophomore season for Marquette. He saw action at forward, providing a different look off the bench. In matches in which Gerlesits played, Marquette was 5-1 including wins over Wis.-Milwaukee, Evansville, Northwestern, Wis-Green Bay and DePaul. Gerlesits was active in the offense during his time, but only recorded two shots on the season. 1999: Gerlesits served as an energetic reserve at forward, appearing in eight matches. He made collegiate debut at Portland (Sept. 4) and registered one shot. He was a member of the Conference USA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll. 1998: He did not play in his first collegiate season, earning a redshirt. At Wheaton-Warrenville South: An all-conference, all-sectional and Tigers' captain as a senior, Gerlesits was a two-time academic all-conference selection. He collected four goals and two assists as a senior. Off the field, he was a member of both the National Honor Society and the Spanish Honor Society. Personal: Born May 13, 1980, Gerlesits is the son of Patricia and William Gerlesits. He has one older brother, one younger sister and one younger brother. His aunt, Kim McElroy, ran cross country for Marquette. His mother and three aunts are all Marquette alumni. He is graduated in May with a degree in biology and is pursuing veterinarian school.
