2000: As a backup to Adam Ubert, Hanley did not see any action during his first collegiate season. Hanley, trained as a goal keeper and position player, did earn experience as both in practice.
At Lakeshore: Hanley earned three varsity soccer letters playing for head coach Brian Samuel at Lakeshore. He was named team captain for his senior season and voted his team's hardest working player following his final high school year. He recorded five shutouts and a 1.44 goals against average in his final high school campaign. As a position player, he scored three goals as a midfielder in his senior year. For his summer club team, he had six shutouts and a 0.29 goals against average in seven contests. He was selected to the National Honor Society and Who's Who of American High School Students.
Personal: Born September 1, 1981, Hanley is the son of Mike and Claudia Hanley. He has one brother, Matt, and is an electrical engineering major.
