At St. Thomas Aquinas: Knoelke was part of a St. Thomas Aquinas squad that was a state runner up twice in his four years. As a senior, he scored 14 goals and seven assists, earning first-team all-state honors. Additionally, he was an academic all-state selection, first team all-league and first team all-county. After a seven goal, two assist junior year, he was named second-team all-league and was voted his team's most improved player. He finished his career amongst the top 15 all-time goal scorers and points leaders. He was a member of the Kansas State ODP team from 1999-2002 and played club soccer with the KCFC Alliance. He was team captain for his club, leading them in scoring in 2001 and 2002. He was a member of the National Honor Society and was on the Honor Roll.

Personal: Patrick Michael Knoelke was born on December 11, 1984, in Winfield, Ill. His parents are Michael and Cindy Knoelke; he has a younger brother, Timothy.
