PROVIDENCE, R.I. -- The Marquette University men's soccer team remained perfect in BIG EAST Conference play with a 3-1 win Saturday at Providence College.
"We had big performances from many players," said head coach Louis Bennett. "We made lots of substitutions to keep the tempo up and apply constant pressure. Credit to the coaching staff, because it worked, and the players followed the game plan. This team did something that not many teams do, and that was to come to Providence and win. This is a really tough place to play.

Junior striker Andy Huftalintallied the opening goal in the 11th minute on a shot that hit off the crossbar, but Friars quickly equalized on a goal by Marcos Ugarte on a counter attack following an MU corner kick.
Fellow junior Chris Madsen followed up with the eventual game-winner, shaking a pair of Providence defenders in the box before finishing in front of goal to make it 2-1 in the 31st minute. Dennis Holowatyhad the assist from the backline.
